THE YORKSHIRE THREE PEAK CHALLENGE
JULY 23
In July 2023, we took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks, a true test of endurance, stamina, and mental grit. With a team of forty people, many whom had never hiked before, we scaled the mountains of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, a twenty-six-mile circular route of rugged terrain, changeable weather conditions and incredible scenery!
Our fundraisers, many of whom had never met, endured a gruelling and emotional day to raise an incredible amount for us, our highest figure yet… £12,195.
It was an experience we won’t forget; we all hit new heights with mindset and laughter getting us through. A huge thanks to our sponsors on the day, Shakespeare Martineau and Marrons, who so kindly covered the cost of transporting our team to the Yorkshire Dales and back.

UNTING TWO CITIES
In April 2022, we attempted our first sporting fundraiser, The Two City Run, running from the home of Derby County FC to the home of the mighty Reds, Nottingham Forest FC. Just off the back of the pandemic, we needed to take action to keep the charity sustainable. As we work predominantly across these two counties, we set about taking on the twenty-four-mile journey with a small team of seven.
It was a tough day, more so than expected, but with the next few months being crucial to the sustainability of Brighter Futures Through Sport, we got our heads down and completed it, raising just over £2000 to ensure the continuation of our work.
A huge thanks to all our family members and friends for joining the last mile and getting us over the finish line; we couldn’t have done it without you!
